The scientific contributions presented at the ISSC-2 Symposium will be published in a special issue of the Advances in Space Research journal, a recognized peer-review journal dedicated to space research. The special issue will be a single or double issue, depending on the amount of papers submitted, and fully dedicated to Space Climate. All submitted papers will be subjected to a normal peer-review by two reviewers. The volume will be edited by three guest editors (G. Maris, K. Mursula and I. Usoskin) and supervised by the Editor-in-chief M. Shea.
All submitted papers must meet the standards required of a research paper. Actually, the special issue will not be exactly equal to the Symposium proceedings, and the content of submitted papers may be different from that presented at the Symposium. Submitting a paper which has not been actually presented at the Symposium but is related to Space Climate subject, is also possible.
We aim for a very rapid publication schedule (see below). This implies strict deadlines, which have to be noted by all contributors. Papers that are too late to meet the January 2007 approval deadline will not be included in the special issue but can possibly be published later as normal, stand-alone papers in a regular ASR issue.
SCHEDULE OF PUBLICATION
15 Sept. 2006 ABSTRACT DEADLINE
Submission deadline for the first notice of a paper which is intended to be submitted to the Proceedings. This notice should include the title, authors, and abstract of the paper, as well as names of 5 potential reviewers. Note that the abstract may be different from the contribution at the Symposium.
15 Oct. 2006 PAPER DEADLINE
Submission deadline of full papers to the Proceedings, prepared according to ASR requirements.
15 Dec. 2006 Papers are expected to be appropriately revised after reviewing.
30 Jan. 2007 DEADLINE FOR FINAL APPROVAL
All papers that have been accepted by this date will be included in the special issue.
April 2007 The special issue will be first published electronically. Paper version will be published shortly thereafter.
