OTHER MEETINGS

We note that this Symposium is planned to be just before the ISROSES Symposium "Recent Observations and Simulations of the Sun-Earth System" in Varna, Bulgaria, 18-22 September 2006 (http://www.isroses.org/). This will significantly reduce the total travel costs of those who would like to attend both meetings. Ground transportation could be  organized to and from Varna for attendees at the two Symposia.

Not far away from Romania, in CROATIA (Hvar), The VIIIth Hvar Astrophysical Colloquium: DYNAMICAL PROCESSES IN THE SOLAR ATMOSPHERE, will be held on 24-29 September 2006, organized by Hvar Observatory Faculty of Geodesy, University of Zagreb under the auspices of the Croatian Astronomical Society and the Municipality of Hvar (http://www.geof.hr/oh/meetings/). Among other solar items, we would like to note the subject Space Weather and Space Climate”.

We also announce the Anniversary Conference - 50 YEARS OF ROMANIAN ASTROPHYSICS (Project EFYRA, http://aira.astro.ro/~cris/efyra/), to be held in Bucharest, September 27-30, 2006. The conference’s aim is to celebrate fifty years of Romanian astrophysical research, as well as to highlight the Romanian research in the European context of integration.

Attendance at all these meetings would be a good opportunity to establish profitable contacts between scientists from the Balkan region, Europe and overseas as well as to visit wonderful places from this part of Europe.
